The High Court has condemned Joseph 'Jowie' Irungu to death for homicide of financial specialist Monica Kimani.
Monica Kimani was killed on September 19, 2018. On February 9, 2024, the court viewed Jowie to be very muchliable of homicide, while his co-denounced Jacque Maribe was absolved.
The Workplace of the Head of Public (ODPP) and the group of the late Monica Kimani had welcomed the court to hand a capital punishment to Jowie, who was seen as at legitimate fault for homicide.
During the condemning at the Milimani Regulation Court, justice grace Nzioka noticed that the arraignment, in its entries, begged the court to condemn Jowie to death for the mischief caused to the casualty's loved ones.
"The court has been welcome to consider that the wrongdoing had serious physiological and actual damage to the person in question and family. In view of this component, the arraignment contends that the court ought to meet out the sentence as given under the law," noted justice Nzioka.
As per justice Nzioka, the arraignment refered to the Francis Muruatetu instance of 2015. Arraignment expressed that in spite of the choice on account of Muruatetu, Death sentence isn't unlawful.

Justice Nzioka Elegance noticed that Monica's family likewise beseeched the court to hand Jowie a Death Sentence.
