Joseph Irungu prevalently known as Jowie has recorded a documented notification of allure against his Death Sentence over the homicide of bussiness woman Monica Kimani.
In the notification on Friday, Walk 15, Jowie, through his legal advisor Andrew Muge, said the allure was against the conviction and sentence gave over by Equity Effortlessness Nzioka.
"Take notice That Joseph Kuria Irungu through his lawyer requests to the Court of Allure against the choices of the Honourable Lady Justice Grace Nzioka conveyed in open court at Milimani, Nairobi on the 9 th day February 2024 and in her composed judgment dated ninth February 2024 by which the Litigant was indicted for Homicide and condemned to death on thirteenth Walk, 2024. The allure is against the conviction and sentence," read the notification to some extent.
Muge noticed that Jowie expects to be available at the knowing about the allure.
Justice Nzioka on Wednesday condemned Jowie to death after he was viewed as at real fault for killing Monica Kimani in 2018.
In her ruling, the High Court Judge called attention to that the homicide of the late finance manager was arranged, and planned prior to being executed.
"I have requested that the main denounced individual under the watchful eye of this court Joseph Kuria Irungu moniker Jowie will languish demise as given over the offense of homicide under segment 204 of the reformatory code of Kenya and that sentence is saved by a legitimately capable locale," Justice Nzioka ordered.
Before the decision Jowie had argued for mercy and asked Justice Nzioka for a custodial sentence saying he was a first-time wrongdoer.
The post trial supervisor in his report said the convict needs stable accomplice connections, displays a solitary character, and is unprejudiced and a daredevil who utilizes his displeasure to control others.
