Entire Kiss FM crew fired including Kwambox and Kerry

As part of an ongoing restructuring at Radio Africa Group, Kiss FM presenters Kwambox (who had reportedly already resigned) and her co-host Kerry Martin have been retrenched.

In April 2025, Radio Africa Group, the parent company of Classic FM, Kiss 100, Radio Jambo, East FM, Gukena FM, The Star newspaper, and Mpasho, announced another round of layoffs, just weeks after closing its television division.

The new wave of retrenchments, revealed by CEO Martin Khafafa, is part of the company's ongoing cost-cutting strategy as it navigates a challenging business climate, with declining revenues and changing audience behaviors.

Radio Africa is not the only one facing these challenges. Other prominent media players in Kenya, such as the Standard Group and Nation Media Group, have also been grappling with similar difficulties.

Both organizations have conducted their own rounds of layoffs in recent months and continue to experience delays in paying correspondents and staff, underscoring the financial pressures weighing on traditional media outlets.
