Photos have emerged of William Imoli, also known as Omar Shakur—the alleged assassin behind the killing of Kasipul MP Charles Were.
Imoli was apprehended over the weekend during a dramatic, intelligence-led operation by a multi-agency security team. He was cornered around 2:00 AM at a popular entertainment venue along Thika Road, where he was reportedly partying with two associates.
His arrest marks a major breakthrough in a case that has gripped the nation and drawn widespread public attention.
Following his capture, Imoli is said to have cooperated with authorities and led detectives to his residence. A subsequent search yielded over $4,800 in cash (approximately Ksh 620,000).
According to security sources, Imoli is believed to be a prominent member of the Mujahidin gang—a shadowy extremist group with a stronghold in Nairobi’s Eastlands area. The gang is reportedly involved in orchestrated assassinations and other violent criminal activities.
Described as a highly trained and lethal hitman, Imoli’s exceptional marksmanship has reportedly shocked even seasoned law enforcement officers. He is also known for his intense dedication to physical fitness.
